The first time I captured this family on camera was about 10 years ago, ankle deep in snow in Utah. Back then, the oldest was 8 years old, and the youngest was crying because he didn’t wear socks in his snow boots. It took about a full hour to get a family photo. I have taken their family photos every year, since then, and have followed them from the snow to the beach, and back in the snow, then back to the beach. This last session, it took me 15 minutes to capture the entire family (my sister-in-law loves to time me). I am truly humbled that I have been able to watch them grow up, through my lens and in real life.
“I think that the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms, allow them to take the subway… let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves.” ― C. JoyBell C
