As a native New Yorker, my first film images were of the Statue of Liberty (oh the irony). I was 13 years old and on a field trip, toting along my mom's old Canon AE-1, her prized possession. My mom, to this day, never understood why I "wasted" my film photographing non-sensical things. I didn't let it stop me and found myself really loving photography when I discovered an interest in photographing people. Needless to say, after that trip, my mom's trusty camera never left my side.
I moved to Los Angeles as a high school sophomore and found myself immersed in wanting to learn about all things photography, from posing techniques to light and shadows. While studying conceptual photography at the University of California, Irvine I began photographing weddings for free meals and the cost of film (starving college student and all) which led to word-of-mouth referrals and the start of my professional career in the world of wedding and portrait photography. My biggest accomplishment at the time was purchasing a new medium format, Mamiya 645AF. 20+ years later, it still sits in a coveted position in my home!
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, Photography, I decided to make Orange County my forever home. I adopted a dog, met a boy, married said boy, traveled the world for work (and for fun), and eventually became a mom. These days, I'm photographing fewer weddings but have found a new path in lifestyle portraiture, commercial and editorial work.
My love for creating images and storytelling has grown since starting out as a young, wide-eyed college kid. While I love crafting stories for my clients, I also love to share my stories as well. I credit my connection to my clients for keeping me passionate about my craft. My favorite thing in the world is watching my families grow and capturing their stories for them to remember forever. If you'd like to read their stories, and follow along with mine, visit my social feeds, and welcome to the table!
