I didn’t know it back then, but a few years ago, I met a boy that would make an impact in my life. Carter and his family taught me about the power of kindness, love and what it truly meant to be brave. Carter was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 2, 2015 at the age of 4. He put up a damned good fight, he fought so hard and never gave up. On October 8, 2017 Carter passed away due to complications from a condition called Typhlitis.
Approximately 13,000 children a year in the US hear the words, “You have cancer.” Pediatric cancer research funding is less than 4% of the NIH funding for cancers.
In loving memory of Carter, the bravest superhero I have ever known, I will be hosting Superhero Sessions on March 4th. For every session booked, 50% of the session fee will go to support pediatric cancer funding research. Carter inspires me to love and spread kindness every day and because of him, I truly believe in superheroes.
